Metro: QR passes & transit apps

Most cities accept international-card-friendly transit QR codes from AliPay or WeChat Pay Mini Programs. Tap the QR at the gate and exit with a second scan.

Beware: entering via ticket gate is mandatory before QR scan

High-speed rail (HSR)

Buy tickets through Trip.com, 12306 (English version), or a travel agency. Foreign passports are accepted at self-service machines in major stations. Arrive 30–45 minutes before departure for security and ID checks.

Taxis & ride-hailing

Didi is the dominant ride-hailing app and now accepts foreign cards. Taxis metered in most cities add a tiny fuel surcharge. Always confirm destination using a map with Chinese characters.
